He is dead on with this. The press box and visitor locker rooms concern me more than any other deficiencies that may exist. I'm sure RP and others hope that this event will provide the spark needed to get it going.

I would certainly hope that ISU didn't bid for this tournament without having a plan in place to make the necessary upgrades to the park. If they don't have those plans in place, this experience could actually do more harm than good for folks wanting to have these championship caliber events spread around more. Most of the rest of the MVC looks at ISU/Terre Haute as a big trailer park already, if we host with the facilities that we currently have, I'm afraid that that image will only be strengthened. And that, in turn, could hurt our ability to host future events at our (perceived) second rate facilities.

But I would be surprised, shocked actually, if RP doesn't already have this figured out...

I would be shocked if this issue wasn't discussed multiple times during the bid process and that ISU probably had to share a plan with the league before winning the bid. If the problem/concern is known as widespread as Golden says it is (and I believe him), then one would imagine league officials shared similar concerns and ISU had to present some sort of a plan of action. I would find it hard to believe that the league officials would say "yea we know every team in the league has a concern, but oh well, what can you do?" and awards it to ISU anyway.

Our AD said that Indiana State plans to bring in so modulars to use as temporary clubhouse. The only thing he mentioned he had a problem with is the press box and a not having camera stands in the dugouts and outfield.

The Shox got their asses blitzed by Kansas State & Arkansas last week...now the crying towels are out for the perpetual thug of NCAA Baseball, Gene Stephenson, who's now history in the Land of Oz. He's make a good "scarecrow"...better yet, maybe we could have him sit in a carnival dunking booth (minus the screen) and see how it feels to be hit upside the head w/ a hardball?
