Didn't do this all season long as I have in years past, but a couple of you PM'd me asking about it so here are the end of the season numbers heading into the MVC tournament.

According to John Hollinger, here is his PER Reference Guide. Keep in mind it is geared towards NBA players, but you can get a general idea of what the number above is considered:

A Year For the Ages: 35.0
Runaway MVP Candidate: 30.0
Strong MVP Candidate: 27.5
Weak MVP Candidate: 25.0
Bona fide All-Star: 22.5
Borderline All-Star: 20.0
Solid 2nd option: 18.0
3rd Banana: 16.5
Pretty good player: 15.0
In the rotation: 13.0
Scrounging for minutes: 11.0
Definitely renting: 9.0
The Next Stop: DLeague 5.0

Out of curiosity, do you have the ability to easily generate the PER for conference only games? Granted, it's a smaller data set, but the argument could be made that the conference season is more important to our success than the non-conference.

I am guessing that Neese/Key PER will be even higher, with additional drop off from Barnes.

Year over year it's good to see improvement from Kessinger.

Yeah, I did that in the past. I have that data so provided my old ass reminds myself tonight, it ain't gonna be pretty. It's basically going to be Key, then a significant drop and then the pack.

Surprisingly, the numbers were somewhat similar for several guys, Neese jumped and Barnes, Thomas dropped like a rock:
