I've got to think both Bradley's Wardle and Drake's DeVries will be candidates for some high major jobs in this cycle.

DeVries was already mentioned on the Notre Dame job.

I think devries would be more apt to leave. He can bring his son for a few seasons and will have a pretty bare roster the next few seasons of he stays in des moine. Wardle could have another solid season next year if mast stays which would raise his stock and may get him a bidding war if Bradley wants to pony up

I'm the opposite with Wardle. He already had the NCAA tournament run and if they knock off Drake, he won the Valley with a lesser roster after losing one of his best players to Georgia. That's prime selling for an agent.

Have seen DeVries name mentioned at Notre Dame as well as Iowa if Notre Dame was to go after McCaffery. There was even a mention that McDermott could leave Creighton for Notre Dame and DeVries would get that job.

Looks like he may be a hot commodity.

Texas Tech's Adams has resigned. Accused of lobbing some racist stuff at his players. TCU had a player leave and make the same accusation yesterday so Dixon may be under a microscope in short order.

Ole Miss is apparently hiring former Texas HC Beard.

McNeese State is rumored to be bringing in ole Will Wade. Somewhere Royce is reciting his quote.

Ole Pat Ewing let go by his alma mater after he ran the program a bit into the ground.

ran into the ground? only one coach in over a century of Hoya basketball has a worse record than Ewing...

The Hoyas haven't been this bad since the late 50s (Nolan era)

Has to be folks in DC who'd kill to have lil' John Thompson back on the sideline

When was the last time they had 2 or fewer wins in conference play? Let’s alone 2 conference wins over 2 seasons.

Answer is never. Nobody was claiming they were a blue blood or elite but they were always halfway decent.

we're talking past each other - Ewing didn't run the program in the ground - he BURIED the F**king thing!

His last two teams are "up there with Evansville & IUPUI" in levels of futility - Ewing deserved a shot at a HC gig - but he should have cut his teeth in a less 'visible' spot

Gotcha.

Rumor has they may be targeting Pitino. If they get him, they'll likely get back to where they were with the occasional up year provided he can get some young assistants that can recruit. Was seeing that Iona doesn't have NLI (or it's very limited) so he may be looking to go.

Pastner out at Georgia Tech. They gave him a loooooooong leash. Dude has had a long career off the back of his cheating in recruiting while at Memphis.

Hoya fan here...when we first got cable in late 70's, early 80's era, two of my favorite teams watching those ESPN and MSG network games were Georgetown and North Carolina. Fast forward to the 1982 NCAA Final my senior year...my buddies are asking me "who are you rooting for"? I said I didn't know, and they hammered me..."gotta pick one". I refused. Early in that game, when Ewing got his 2nd or 3rd goaltending call, I jumped out of my chair and said "BULLSHIT"...so, the Hoyas it was. Some kid named Jordan and an errant Freddie Brown pass later, and it cemented the Hoyas for me. I still like the 'Heels as well. It's been BRUTAL watching them look soooo bad the last couple of years.

BTW...no one ever discusses (that I've seen) WHY Brown errantly threw the pass to Worthy. In that era, the Hoyas white uni's loosely resembled UNC in style and color. I think in a split second, he freaked out and got his uni's mixed up. Hoyas replaced the white uni's with grey the next year.
