Something very positive that I feel has been overlooked this season is the production from the following true-freshmen, starting with the MVC Co-Freshman of the Year...

Jeremy Martinez - Catcher - Started 45 Games, Batted .250 (12 2B), Fielded .991
Ty Brooks - Pitcher - Started 11 Games, Appearances 17, yes his ERA was 6.51 but he was a workhorse (sorta) at 55.1 innings.
Mason Roell - 3B - Started 25 Games, Batted .267 over 86 ABs, did commit 6 errors (but he's a true freshman).
Andrew Ortiz - OF - Started 15 Games and played in 23, Batted .311, SLG .492, Zero Errors
Zach Henderson - OF - Started 9 Games and played in 20, Batted .297, Zero Errors

I very much hope all these guys return. Most worried about Martinez bolting.

So, tough season for or Sycamores. I moved to Dallas after graduation and nailed a MBA at DBU. Sycamores To The Bone, but ok to cheer for Patriots Baseball in the post season?

Absolutely you should cheer for DBU in the post season!

But you should only talk about the Sycamores in this thread.

I liked Gibson when he played for the Rex, he just never translated well to our offense. I hope he lands somewhere he can shine for his last year.

Murray up 12-3 in the 7th. Looking like 3 supers in 3 years by 3 different programs for the MVC

But the "Committee" will still give the SEC 7+ Regionals to host and hold the Valley to one team most seasons.

The Racers were the #4 seed in their regional after winning both the reg season and tournament titles. Old news, but the MVC continues to not be respected at a national level.

Unfortunately the college baseball tournament is nothing more than an SEC / southern ACC invitational. Not a fan of how they seem to end up with almost all of the hosting spots every single year. This year they got 11 of 16. This sort of bias is not a great way to try to grow college baseball into a national sport.

The line out of town is getting longer:

Ben Waliczek
Wes Lyerly
Cole Pachecho
Miguel Cantu

None are stars, but but it would be nice to be able to develop people who don't see a lot of action. Guess those days are over.

Would have liked to have kept Cantu.

Pena transferred here and had to wait a year to get a lot of ABs but then had a great senior season here for us. Think Cantu could have been that guy next season.

Where do you get your info for transfers? I search Twitter, but that can be a little tiresome.

I said it when he was announced, Tracy Archeleta is the WRONG man for ISU Baseball. Watched him too many years at Westside high aka USI. Had one season shining point due to his assistant staff who left. Next year and it fell apart. Get used to 500 and mid of the pack MVC as long as he is here.
