Once Suriel was knocked out, reliever came in and got a ground out that plated a run to make it 5-0. Then struck out the next batter to end the inning.

Rest of the game was 5-4. So if we can get our starting rotation set we could have a good season.

10-4 loss to a warm weather ACC school the second game of the season isn’t a horrible result. Especially after a bad start.

I believe the season we hosted we started the season 2-12?

I think it was 2-8 if I remember right but the pitching was way better in that team

If we get McEwen back in the weekend rotation, I’m incredibly optimistic about our pitching (including relievers) in the conference season.

Parson had a good 1-2-3 start coupled with a run across for the Trees in the bottom of the 1st, but two walks come back to bite in the top of the 2nd and Wake Forest takes a 2-1 lead.

Took a break to watch the end of the basketball game. SMH. After 7 Wake leads 8-1.

Only 6 hits given up. 9 walks and 2 very poorly timed errors are a bulk of what has led to Wake runs.

5 hits for the offense today. 10 K's.

1-2 in Puerto Rico with the two losses to top-25 teams. All good IMO. Onto Miami (for another top-25 team)!

Been hearing a lot of talk about coaches wanting to push the start of the season back anywhere between 2 weeks to a month. December is a "dead month" by the NCAA so staffs aren't allowed to basically do anything with their teams then the season starts in February. Makes sense for the practice time debate and for the fact that northern teams have to basically play the first month of the season on the road.

Oh boy. Miami was being no-hit through six innings last night and ended up beating UCF 8-7 with a walk-off HR in the 13th. Gonna be a tough one tonight.

I’ve been disappointed with our ability to compete with power conference teams under Arch, so hoping for a win here. We consistently beat or were in the games against teams like this previously
Let's not forget that before Arch, there was basically no such thing as the transfer portal, coach Hannahs was able to build year after year for more than a decade.

When Arch took the helm last year, the cupboard was bare with the exception of very few holdovers. I think it's okay to give him a pass last year. And even last year, we played Vandy competitively. And we beat IU.

This year...playing three top-25 teams, three games in a row, in the first week of the season, is a tough ask of any second-year coach. There's nothing wrong with hoping for a win today, but let's be realistic. Today's Miami starting pitcher is a Freshman with a 9.5 grade on Perfect Game. Would love it if we can get to him early, but he very well could be a Freshman phenom.

Kind of weird we’re throwing our starter from last Friday? Is he going to go two and still pitch Friday? Is someone else taking that spot and they’re moving him to Saturday/Sunday? Just interesting

Sycamores tie it up in the top of the 5th on a double, hbp, and a single up the middle.

2-2. Trees still batting with two on

And Suriel gets brought in out of the pen and immediately gives up an RBI double

4-2 canes in bottom of the 8th
