Confidence raising win. We're better than our .500 record. That 3 game ACC stretch was rough.
It’s true that we’re 5-2 outside of the three ACC games, but with one loss being to Brown and another being a 17-1 loss, I’m still in wait and see mode as to whether or not we’re better than our .500 record.

And I’m usually very optimistic, especially this early in the season. I’d feel a lot better if Max McEwen wasn’t injured.

Up 11-3 in the top of the 8th at WKU. Should get us back to 7-7.

On a side note, this should be the lone Valley win today. MVC went a combined 1-8. Been a terrible year for the Valley, pretty much nobody stands out on the top right now. Murray has 10 wins on paper but reality is they've been a bunch of terrible teams.

Think Arch really didn’t want to bring in another pitcher and tried to get Robert’s to finish the game. But he ran out of gas and gave up a few in the top of the 9th before being pulled.

Trees win 11-6

Fortunately, I/we can turn our undivided attention to ISU baseball.

Unfortunately, we’re 7-8 when we should be (probably) 10-5. Or (definitely) 9-6.

Fortunately, the game tonight vs Vandy will be aired on SECN+.

Unfortunately, Vandy has already hit 42 home runs this season.

Fortunately, our defense as a whole has improved from the first couple of weekends of the season, up to a .970 fielding percentage.

Unfortunately, we strikeout a ton at the plate (143) and don’t walk nearly enough (57).

Late inning defense is suspect - and late inning pitching is hit & miss... Hope he wind isn't blowing out!

Well, immediately gave 6 back in the bottom of the inning. Suriel comes in and gives us a third of an inning, two walks, a hit batter, and gives up 3 runs, yikes
Why he keeps running Suriel out there I will never understand.

Unless we are up 10+ or down 10+ Suriel should never take the mound.

I tend to agree with you, however, last night was not Suriel’s fault.

He induced a double-play ball to Niehaus at second base which would have ended the inning with the Sycs up 8-6. Niehaus committed his 8th error of the season and everything unraveled from there.
