We could also just drop to division 2 in everything except baseball, and be like DBU. Maybe start a D1 hockey program in the process.
 
We’ve won five of our last six. The only loss being to an excellent Connor Lockwood who is an all-MVC pitcher.

It’s all about winning conference series and not losing to Quad 4 RPI teams. That was our problem last year, we couldn’t take care of business vs Quad 4 teams.

And in case you’re wondering (and even if you’re not) the Valpo wins are currently Quad 3 wins, they have a better RPI than us: 180 to our 184.

currently 4-2 in conference with Murray leading at 6-0.

MVC is down pretty badly and it's wide open. If we could win either the regular season or tournament (which we can) chalk it up as a pretty good season

You are correct. We've played the 2 worst teams in the league and lost a game to each....simply can't happen if you want to win the league. I think we are seeing some signs the pitching is coming around, but we are so far off what we were a couple years ago. I did hear that McEwen was throwing off the mound yesterday, so hopefully he's about ready to get back to live pitching. If he can come back close to his potential, he will help.
 
Just hoping we can finish top 3, be on the other side of the MVC tourney bracket from Murray State.

Losing two games to Valpo and Bradley was not good, as the top teams will probably sweep one or both of them.

Because of those loses I don’t know how realistic our path is to first place but I think we can still finish in the top three and hopefully be a tough out in the MVC tourney.

Not a good year for the Racers to host if you are the rest of the league.

Gained 18 spots in RPI with the win over Purdue
