Kentucky junior baseball standout A.J. Reed has been named the 2014 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year.
A native of Terre Haute, Reed is the second player in Kentucky history to earn SEC Player of the Year honors and the first since Ryan Strieby was honored in 2006. Also, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound Reed is the first UK player to earn back-to-back first-team All-SEC accolades since Terry Shumpert in 1986-87.
