Indiana State senior linebacker Aaron Archie has been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Defensive Player Of The Week for his efforts in the Sycamores' 23-7 road victory over Western Illinois on October 20.

It's a very nice honor, but Washington and Archie average 10 or more tackles each week. They could/should be honored more if the system was fair. We have such a good defense though and Archie is the leader!
 
good for Aaron! I was thinking about this earlier, but I think he has been with the program 5 years now, so basically since the beginning of the resurrection I guess you could say. We rarely hear about this player, he just quietly goes out there every day and does his job and does it well. I almost compare him to David Moss from the basketball team, Moss was REALLY good, could have left ISU for greener pastures (like Rice did at Drake), but stuck it out until the end. It's good we have players like this, those who believe in what the coaches are doing and stick with it until the end and reap the rewards they deserve.

Congrats Aaron and thank you for being a Sycamore! Now go out and win these last 3 games and end your career with an MVFC championship and playoff bid!
