Watched most of the game up until it got out of hand and NDSU could have easily packed it in after going down 10-0 early at home to the Jacks. Instead they run off 36 unanswered and don't let SDSU score again. All of this despite multiple injuries including some guys getting dinged up in the game only to have the next man come in and not skip a beat.

That is why they have won 5 championships going on 6 in a row. Each game they get better. Last year we had a good chance to beat them and a some Bison fans were worried about their D and their new starting QB at the time in Easton Stick. Their depth is so strong and they don't make many mistakes. We could only dream of having so much depth.

The competition for talent at NDSU is virtually non-existent. They are THE SCHOOL in ND! Over 70% of their players come from ND, SD, MINN, MONT, and WIS. none of these states that have Power 5 schools have secondary schools for the talent that would go to them. ISU on the other hand competes with in the states surrounding them and IN. 11 MAC schools, 4 MVFC schools, 2 OVFC schools, 2 Pioneer league schools, plus several D2 schools. If you look at it further Montana is good, SD has two good programs, and UND was good this year too. So I really believe that that has something to do with it. The second thing is money, face it ISU Athletics is very poor compared to some of these schools and the community for whatever reason is NOT involved with ISU like some of these other communities!

You may have mistaken my point. It is this NDSU really doesn't compete for the same talent that will end up at a Power 5 Conference i.e. Big Ten, Big 12, so that leaves you with 4 MVFC, 1 Big Sky, and Wyoming which is several hundred miles away. Now consider the FCS schools that you compete against, this is where my point comes into play. On your roster which has 109 players on it you have 21 from ND, 34 from Minn, 16 from Wis, and 4 from SD. That's 50 almost half of your roster from two states that have no FCS, D2, or NAIA. Now I can't speak for anyone else but if I lived in either of those states and I wasn't a Power 5 talent and ND came knocking at my door I would choose to play at a school where I knew I would have a chance to play for a National Championship. Not trying to discredit anything that NDSU has done just some schools have more competition for the level of talent.

We have a TE, QB, RB, DE currently playing that had B1G offers, they chose NDSU, we have consistently beat the MAC and MWC (wyoming) for recruits.

Outside the states you mentioned you left off Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Florida, Missouri

I'm not trying to start anything but assumptions vs reality are not correct. We really have something special here and it has been since the 60's

I was not going to reply to this as I honestly think you are either not reading and understanding the point I am trying to make. Most FCS schools have Power 5 conferences recruits on their rosters. That of course is not my point so let me spell this out so that maybe you'll get it. NDSU is located in an area where the closet FBS school is HUNDREDS of miles away! Yes NDSU does compete against a few FCS schools for their recruits but THEY DO NOT COMPETE AGAINST THE NUMBER OF SCHOOLS THAT ISU DOES!! Within the same geographical area that NDSU does. So if you were to draw a 200 or 300 mile circle around each school then you would see that we compete against more schools for the same talent than NDSU does! There is no argument here unless you are blind or totally inept! I left those states off my list because they did not matter in the point I was trying to make! You will have to reread my post to understand that. Yes your reputation is a great one and it precedes you wherever you go! Which is the other point I'm trying to make. If I am a FCS recruit living in the geographical area that I mentioned in my previous post and NDSU came knocking at my door and offered me a full ride I would take it because I know that I would have the opportunity to play for a National Championship! I don't know that would be the case at NDU SDSU SDU OR UNI! I am in no way dissing NDSU and have nothing but great respect for them! I hope this helps you to understand what I am saying if not then you're on your own!

JT I tend to strongly agree w/ TJB. Why? Because the NDSU Family 'gets it' when it comes to succeeding in FCS/D1 football. It's a credibility thing, they've got it because they've got the rings to show for it . Said another way, if TJB told me their secret to talent acquisition/championship success was attributable to chopping a chicken's head off and waiving it over the bronze sculpture of the Bison in the Fargo Dome , instead of arguing about the insanity of it and school location, I'd go out and buy a live chicken.

OMG! Are you guys kidding me! I agree! I agree! I agree! The only point I am trying to make is that ISU has more local competition for the same talent! If you guys can't see that by now I don't know what to do!
