Any idea what changes and/or additions RP has in store for Warn Field before next Spring's MVC Post-Season showcase? There were a number of disgruntled schools after our selection, and comparatively speaking, they have a point. Yes, I'm happy about hosting the event, but let's put our BEST foot forward, reflecting true Sycamore Pride. For some reason, I have reservations about the situation, especially given the fiscal collapse of the Rex.

I'm very curious to know that as well.

As far as visitor's locker room goes...RP mentioned a temporary space would be implemented, so maybe a tented visitor's clubhouse of some sort.

Golden is concerned about the media facilities...so that'll have to be addressed.

And I truly hope they're able to have a camera in the outfield to provide a "behind the pitcher" angle for the ESPN3 broadcast. But to do that, it looks like they'll have to cut down a tree or two?

I drove down the gravel access road behind the OF fence last week, pot holes...no drainage provisions...looked like something that Duck Dynasty contractors put together. The chain link fence "protecting" the graveyard was broken in multiple spots...ugly - tear the damn thing down and create something with dignity & class. The whole 1B line area needs redesign...put BLEACHERS in, remove the 'friggin storage shed & batting cages acro$$ the street...anywhere but there. The "phase development" of this Bob Warn dream worries me. We truly need more space, which requires a shift of 1st St. to the west.

Last weekend, the concrete sidewalk inside the 3B wall looked like S. Chicago, as children overcome by heat were seeking solace in the shade, lying on towels & sleeping bags. Anyone ever heard of a shower sprinkler system to cool children? If TH Convention & Tourism plans to host Summer events, they've gotta start thinking like a HOST. Their solution to the heat? They passed out "hand fans." :hypnotized:

Well hell, why not just send it back to Wichita and forget about hosting?

Well of course you have reservations about the situation. I'm pretty sure your the most negative poster on the board lol The rex did not collapse because of Bob Warn Field. Had nothing to do with that or even attendance really. Are there some issues we need to address before hosting the tournament? Sure there are some tweaks that need to happen. Same thing was said when Indy got the super bowl ( no im not trying to compare the importance of the two). But our baseball field is nothing to be ashamed of. I'm one of the first ones to get pissed off at ISU for being behind on the times or making stupid decisions, but ISU builds a brand new field and then snags the bid to host the MVC tourney and we still complain about and beat down ISU?

Bank has a point. If we host and our facility is woefully inadequate, it makes ISU look bad, it makes Terre Haute look bad. I'd rather host when we are actually prepared for it, because doing it on the cheap will just make us less likely to get to host these events in the future.

RP is a baseball guy, though, so I figure he's got it all under control...

Simple question: What improvements are planned and what's the time table for construction?

Now that's a valid question. Most of your posts just seem like a backhanded shot at ISU. We are far from perfect but we are moving in the right direction in many aspects. I trust RP and he has almost a year to make any small adjustments that need to be made.

Thanks, but I'm firmly aware of ISU's history. After examining the complex last weekend, I'm not sure that "small adjustments" will fill the void.
