Who do you think they will kick out of the league to let Airforce in? Evansville or Indiana St?

Doubt either. Why would you kick out either school? I really don't see anyone getting "kicked out" of the conference, everyone talks about it but it just won't happen.
But nice bait.

c'mon. with conferences being "super-sized" my guess is that ANY expansion with the right school would be a positive thing. AF is not looking at the Mo-val. Five years from now our conference will be very different. But the AF Academy won't be there~

Haven't you heard WSU is joining the Big12-2.

God, don't tell that to Casey garrison, it will end up becoming a gigantic rumor till someone asks him where he got the info, the comments section of a newspaper article. I feel bad for you guys, that guy gave every fan in the valley an easy joke for at least 10 years.

I'd put money on the air force academy going to the WCC than to the Valley.

Who knows; MAYBE they join the Big 12 with BYU and TCU...

The Air Force beat writer sure seems to think AFA is going to join the Valley based on a 30 minute discussion with their AD. I added a couple of his quotes to the site if you're interested.

I'm hearing Air Force will join the Big East if any in football..this makes more sense. As far as hoops goes it would be cool to have AF in the MVC.

it may be "cool" to have AFA in the MVC but I seriously can't see the eastern MVC schools (UNI, SIU, ILS, INS, UE) voting for this because of the increased travel costs for the olympic sports teams, most of the aforementioned schools are already struggling bad enough, and then to go and add several flights for the schools every year?

and as mentioned on other boards, there would have to be a 12th team coming in, or maybe even a 13th and 14th team, then split the conference.

i'm not a fan of Air force coming in. yeah my first thought was holy crap that is awesome but then i got to thinking about it. AFA is not that good in any sports except football, their women sports are absolutely terrible. MAYBE their name can bring something to the valley but doubtful. they don't match up geographically and they have no historical ties with anyone. STL, butler, marquette, depaul, dayton, wright state, oral roberts, they all fit the valley landscape. AFA does not, they are trying to find somewhere to go. but it seems like AFA will be in the valley pretty soon so i'm hoping for a 12th member that starts with B and end in utler.

Your paradigm needs adjustment, the question is, who else would the league let in if Air Force joins the MVC? One possible suggestion to make the MVC a 12 team basketball league is Butler.

Knew someone would eventually say everything I was thinking so I wouldn't have to bother.

I don't see AFA or Butler in the Valley at all. AFA, well, maybe if a 12th team comes in with them to balance the travel. Butler--why would they want to? I see the Missouri Valley Conference as more difficult for them. I could see another Indiana team taking their place. It would be a good fit for Ball State. Cardinal football would go better in the MVFC than in the MAC. BSU and the Big 12???? Get serious.

I don't see Butler joining the MVC anytime soon, and I would be shocked if they did ever. SLU is a possibility if the A10 has some sort of merge with the CAA and remnants of the Big East basketball schools. That would probably leave SLU out of the picture due to geography and they may be looking for a new home. I don't know what a 12th school would be, though.

Butler has no interest in joining the MVC... they would have serious competition for the conference title every year. They have used that automatic bid to their advantage.. and now they have built schedules (and success) that doesn't rely on that auto-bid, but you never know, it may turn around... and it's a nice "ace" to have..
