Morgan, there was absolutely NO call for that cheap shot. That is the kind of crap one finds on Valley Talk by Witch-A-Tau posters.

Whatever... Ask yourself this: Was it a factual post? If you answer yes to this question then don't talk to me again...

Look the dude is a nice player I wont take that away from him... It was a under cut post fine fair enough. But you should really not choke women. Their is no place for those types of people in this world. Let's just leave it at that. I hope you would agree with that...

I can already sense the animosity on this board...

I wasn't judging personal lives. I'm just a basketball guy. Let's stick to that.

agree with Morgan

I hate to say it but I kind of agree with Morgan. They are role models and shouldn't take that responsibility lightly. It was a dark day for ISU athletics when he was being lead out of the courthouse in handcuffs on the evening news.

Thanks Bob even though it was painfull for you to agree with me.

I think those guys agree also.... That's why they let it go. They know I was right!

Check my facts but...

Morgan,

Wasn't Moss DEFENDING himself from his then girlfriend (hot/quick-tempered ISU WBB)?!
What I recall was Moss in her dorm room; heading out the door to his place and she grabbed his keys and refused to let him leave -- the discussion / argument escalated into a 'pushy-pushy' and at some point he grabbed her. I don't recall him actually choking her ala B Knight and N Reed...

My only question, why wasn't SHE also charged w/ assault?!

Role Play...

Can’t accurately answer that question as to why she was not charged with assault. All I know is he was the one that ended up in jail that night... I don't care if she took his keys and put in the garbage disposal he still can't go Chris Brown on her... If she was giving him trouble then he could have just dilled 911 like I had to do 45mins ago... It's a real simple process goes like this:

David: Dials 911 Operator: 911 what’s your emergency.
David: My __________ girlfriend just put my keys in the garbage disposal and she won't let me leave.
Operator: Sir, where you at right now?
David: In the kitchen - I am about to choke this _______.
Operator: Sir Stay calm (Don't choke her even though she deserves it). What's the address of your location?
David: I am in Jones Hall at Indiana State.
Operator: Alright David Police are on the way I am going to remain on the line with you so you don't do something stupid.

Instead David decided to take matters into his own hands...

Nothing, and I mean nothing, tops your post about the conversation between Aaron Carter and Jake Kelly regarding AC giving up the #32. That was an all-time message board classic...:wordyo:

Boda Make a Hall of Fame...

And.... Make this the first post in the Hall of Fame Posts Page. Ok! You heard the people they liked the post... lol

I highly doubt anyone esp. Jake is going to come in with a demanding a number type attitude... I mean really. He might kid around with AC in attempt to get him to give up his number... Let's role play for a min.

JK: Hey AC nice pass so when you gonna let me suit up in that 32?

AC: Prolly when you let me suit up your girlfriend....

JK: Oh that's all it's going to take?

AC: Sure thing - I will just change my number to 69 or something.

JK: Good deal because you prolly wont get out of your warm up...

This is how a number switch might take place at the college level. No demanding, just bargaining.

Sorry Morgan...

Just because Moss ended up in the T-H Big House doesn't mean he was the only guilty party; granted the whole thing could have been handled better; instead of calling 911, he should have got the R.A involved, next step, the Hall Director.

Show me a police force that isn't going to slap the cuffs on the male in this situation 95% of the time; domestic abuse by females is a SEVERELY under-reported crime.

Ahhh good point I would tend to agree with that.

However I am not going to get on here and defend David Moss for what he did. I don't know all of the details to this crime. I was really just trying to be funny when I brought this issue up. I really think you are under stating how big of deal this was at Indiana State when it happened. The star of the team and one of the best basketball players we have ever had acted like a buffoon. What these college hoops players need to understand is that kids in the commuinity look up to these guys and they need to take some responsability for their actions. Granted they are all still college kids themselves and do make mistakes from time to time. But come chokin the ole girl anit gonna win you any points.

Overblown

I tend to believe the entire episode was overblown; if the same thing happens between Moss and a male roommate; never makes the paper, no one hears about it.

BUT because it was his girlfriend; it's automatically (unfairly) categorized as 'Domestic Abuse' -- not sure HOW since it happened on campus, (can't openly co-habitat in the dorms), they weren't married, the State of Indiana DOESN'T recognize common-law marriages. So HOW was this a 'domestic abuse' case?!

All in all; I'm relying on my memory from the Trib-Star reporting. To me there is nothing funny about this topic and full disclosure I have never been accused, implicated, indicted etc on any assualt charges. Ergo, never convicted.

Most athletes know they're role models; some embrace it, others shun it. I'm sure it was HUGE in the Haute; mainly because it was Moss, make it the #11 player and most of the press disappears. I believe the actions, tempermant of his then-girlfriend were under-reported. Wasn't she later booted off the Women's team for 'attitude?!'
