A sad day indeed.The values promoted by the show were so important to everyone in that time.As the icons of my youth pass one at a time it makes one wonder where the new icons are coming from.Because of the importance of them in my developing years I know they can never be replaced to all people of a certain age.God speed Andy.

I've driven PAST Mt. Airy, NC on numerous past occasion while to/fro Winston-Salem (NC 52 - Andy Griffith Pkwy; proposed I-74), but never stopped. That pattern will change on my NEXT trip thru the area.
