Last week it was a very talented player from the UCONN football team and this week a Hampton hoops player. This crap needs to stop!

HAMPTON, Va. -- A Hampton University player has died from what police call an accidental shooting outside a nightclub.

Theo Smalling, right, died after being shot in the abdomen outside a Virginia nightclub.
Theo Smalling of Tampa, Fla., died Monday night, according to a university statement Tuesday.

Police said the 22-year-old team captain was shot in the abdomen early Saturday in the parking lot of a nightclub after another man mishandled a firearm.

Terrible - having lost my best friend Travis Smith 3 years ago in January in a car accident who was an excellent golfer at Ball State, I can relate to what these families are going through.

These are terrible, terrible tragedies and it just reinforces that we are not guaranteed a tomorrow in this life - it owes us nothing.
