I always looked forward to hearing his broadcasts--actually tried to schedule classes around him back in ancient times (60's). I didn't always agree with him; but he did have a certain presence/class on the radio.

Help me out here. I am having a "senior" moment here. Where did they play Paul Harvey's piece about the American farmer recently. It is driving me crazy. It was a beautiful piece of Americana and I can't remember where I heard it. And for you members of Lambda Chi Alpha, he is also a brother, and we're damn proud of him for that too.

Listening to Paul Harvey always made me have a "good day.
My dad and brother were both killed in a farming accident back in 1969. My Aunt told me it was mentioned by Mr Harvey on his daily show. I tried as an adult to get the transcript from the show but they didn't keep transcripts.

I was raised on our dairy farm near Cory, and when he came on the air at noon I knew when to go home for dinner.

Good Day

This is my favorite commercial of all time--without a doubt. Reminds me of great times at home when I was a kid.

I'm not as old as most on here, but Paul Harvey played a large role in my life growing up. My family still operates a 6,000 acre farm in Southwest Missouri and I have fond memories riding around with my grandfather in the afternoon turning the radio on to hear the rest of the story. It never seemed to matter what the details of our day were we always found away to catch his show. To me he is the greatest of story tellers.

The guy could tell a story with a tear in his eye and still smile. He touched all who heard him in some way.

Good Day

I know where I will be buying my out of state whitetail tag this season!! Can't believe I had to invite myself over for a quality whitetail hunt on some 6,000 acres - certainly you've got to control the herd.

Just this morning chased off some does down in the bottom. They are all over the wheat the last month.
