Odds on who wins the series? Dodgers? Angels?? Royals?! Orioles?

Anyone watching the Jeter love fest?

Anyone watching the Non-love fest for Konerko?

I like baseball.

I'm rooting for the Angels. I'm enjoying the Jeter love fest though I haven't followed it that closely. I like that the Yankees are not not gonna make the playoffs. I'm following Konerko's retirement, being a White Sox fan. Looking forward to his number being retired on Saturday. I've been to quite a few Dodgers game this year and am actually a little Dodgered out. Kershaw, phenomenal. Orioles, cool. Royals, very cool...since they haven't been to the playoffs since 85. Pirates, I like to see the Pirates do well. Tigers, I hope they lose in the ALDS. An Angels/Pirates World Series is my wish list. Or an Orioles/Pirates series, to bring back the memory of '79.

Since my Reds are dead, I haven't been watching for the last couple of weeks. Nothing I hate more than to watch bad baseball. I am ready to watch some playoff baseball. It is one of my favorite times of the year, next to opening day and the college world series.

I rarely watch baseball past June......... because my cubbies are usually a raging dumpster fire by then. Now on years they actually compete im all in. Baseball is the only sport I do that with. Basketball and football I tune in regardless of how my team is doing that year and will watch other teams play as well.

My preferred way is to either go TO a game or listen to it on the radio... though MASN has consistent/daily coverage of the Orioles and (for now) the Nationals... never a fan of Selig but his horrible tv deal w/ the Orioles wrt the Expos moving to DC will ALWAYS be a blackmark against him --- along w/ others.

Also had heard that LaTroy Hawkins (Gary native) had planned on retiring this season after 20 years in the Bigs... per the Rockies website, LaTroy turned down OUR MBB scholie offer after the Twins drafted him out of Gary West... Does anyone recall that? Locke offering Hawkins a MBB scholie? ANOTHER one (T. John, D. Mattingly) that we lost!

Life long Dodger fan. Watched the best pitcher in baseball, Kershaw, and the Dodgers win the NL West Division last night. Will definitely be watching the playoffs.

I dont know I've watched more Cubs baseball this year than I have in a long long time and heck I still can't get enough of watchin them pound on the Cardinals the last 2 games!! The Cubs are maybe 1 or 2 more years away from being awfully tough!

Don't care about the Jeter stuff...

Don't watch much in the way of playoff baseball unless its a good story line...

When I do watch it, I tend to get it I can quickly go through most of the game and watch what I believe to be \ worthwhile several times if I want. Takes about 45 minutes to watch a game.

Adam Dunn is retiring --- having never appeared in a MLB post-season game ---- thanks for 400+ HRs!

Bobby Abreau is retiring --- didn't even realize he was still playing.

Thoughts on Barmes being back next season? I believe he's a free agent and while he was really popular in the
Pirates clubhouse, dugout... will they spend money on a 36-yo glove and small bat?

Love the way Jeter went out with game winning hit at home and rbi at Fenway. On the trivia side of things the Yankees have now retired numbers 1-10. There are no single digits left.

Yeah -- I noticed that, looks like the retired ''8" twice ---- bill dickey and the great yogi berra. surprised they retired 6 for torre... guess they;ll give the next great yankee a low double digit

If you want to watch a team do it the right way, watch the Royals. Get on, get them over, get them in. Fundamental baseball.

You're the man, Fungo! Everyone, get on the Royals bandwagon!

I was at the Wild Card game on Tuesday night, and I witnessed the single greatest sporting event of my life in person. I absolutely could not compare it to another game in any sport I've seen before, and that includes MVC championship games and the AFC Championship in Indy in 2009. I've been a Royals season ticket holder since 2006 and have witnessed a LOT of horrible baseball. The city of Kansas City is rabid with Royals fever and it's awesome to see.

And you're right, they play an "unconventional" style of baseball by today's MLB standards. They win with pitching, stellar defense, smart baserunning, and timely hitting. Most other teams win by walks and homeruns where they run station to station and just wait for the 3-run homerun. Not the Royals. They create their opportunities on the bases, scratch out runs, and then make it damn-near impossible for you to score runs on your own with phenominal defense backing up pitch-to-contact pitchers. It's a beautiful thing.

Sorry...I'm still under the spell of my Royals hangover after another win last night.

Everyone, get on the Royals bandwagon!

If you don't mind, I am hoppin' on that bandwagon. I really enjoy watching old school fundamental baseball. Not many people are really giving the Royals much of a chance, so I must root for the underdog. Plus growing up I was a big George Brett fan. I still say the best video in baseball is George Brett going berserk in the pine-tar bat game. :yahoo:

Welcome aboard!

I haven't slept at all this week. I didn't get home until 2:00 AM on Wednesday morning after the wildcard game, and that's mainly because I and everyone else in the stadium didn't want to leave. The game and the feeling was just too good!

Yordando Ventura vs. Shoemaker tonight. I like our chances. Ventura has the best pure stuff of our entire pitching staff and this will be Shoemaker's first start since getting injured in early September. Two rookies going at it on the big stage, but I'll take the guy that throws 100+ MPR with regularity over a guy making his first start in nearly a month.

I would love to be sitting in my seat at Kauffman Stadium on Sunday night watching the Royals clinch and move on to the ALCS. One can dream!
