I'm not sure if anyone else came across this piece, but I found it wildly interesting. I think most can assume this kind of activity goes on everywhere in major college football, but the level of detail the writer uncovers surrounding the pay-for-players system in the SEC is almost unbelievable. It's just a different culture in the South.

I'm not going to go into too much detail, but I did come across a "hat passing" at a Tiger Club meeting for the boosters of the University of Missouri. I went to the meeting to hear Dayton Moore speak, the GM of the Royals, with a few friends from work who are members of the Club, and they took a collection similar to a church offering before they allowed Dayton Moore to enter the room. Trust me, it wasn't a donation to pay for the food.
