Was watching post game show after KY/WS game. Charles Barkley made a comment that WS can't help it that the rest of the teams in their conference suck. Does the MVC suck? I don't think so.

If you watch the coverage that the networks provide the tournament, whether it is CBS, TBS, etc. it is obvious that Barkley is there to give opinions that stir the pot. By watching him for just a few minutes, you can be reasonably confident that he doesn't follow college basketball at all during the season and is just brought in at the end for the tournament. There are several times when he starts talking about a match up you can just tell he doesn't know anything about one or both teams, often cannot recall the names of the players on the team or just speaks in real general terms about teams that could be accurate descriptions of any team in the tournament (i.e. "they play hard" "they score a lot of points").

He spends the whole season doing pro basketball and then they bring him over for three weeks during the tournament for college basketball. Not sure why he and Kenny Smith are brought in, but they are both better to listen to than Gotlieb and Billy Packer when he was still there, so I don't complain too much.

Pretty much this.

It takes all of 2 minutes to determine if someone really has any clue what they're talking about. Hell, most of the college basketball analysts don't and that is their primary job. There are several that you can tell watch a ton of hoops, but most of the big wigs on ESPN, for example, rarely stray from high majors and it is obvious when they get asked questions about it on social media.

As for Wichita State, I've seen numerous beat writers or analysts say we were their hardest opponent this year. While I'd be flattered, they beat Tennessee and St. Louis, both of which were better than we were this year. Once I see someone say this, I instantly render anything else they say as invalid as it tells you they didn't even take 60 seconds to look up their schedule. If they can't be bothered to do that, everything following is verbal diahrea.
