ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference has postponed the Bradley-Indiana State baseball four-game series (Friday-Sunday, April 30-May 2) at Bob Warn Field in Terre Haute, Ind., due to positive COVID-19 test results within Bradley's Tier I personnel, which consists of student-athletes, coaches, managers and staff. Subsequent contact tracing revealed that Bradley did not have the minimum number of medically cleared student-athletes to play. It is unlikely the series will be rescheduled.

So if we finish one game behind in the standings, we still don’t make this series up?
DBU had their series with MSU cancelled a few weeks ago so we should end up even with both of them on games played now. I imagine there will be or is already some kind of rule in place that has been agreed upon that works out tiebreakers and whatnot in scenarios where teams had their games cancelled. I think a lot of years most teams end up with an uneven amount of games played due to rain outs anyways.

In the MVFC they determined champions based on number of losses, so even though UND was technically a half game behind SDSU and MSU, they still won a share of the title and could've won the AQ if the tiebreaker fell their way (they didn't).

Early season cancellations are not nearly as devastating as those "down the stretch," where your squad gathers both rust & loses competitive proficiency, especially against WEAKER competition. Bradley was exactly "what the Dr. ordered" following the tough series in Dallas. A week and a half of no games is a killer...look @ DBU in the Air Force series. They'd just sat out 1 1/2 weeks...

If we can’t find a team for a weekend series maybe we can at least get a game with Ball State, IU or Purdue for Tuesday.

Is it possible to schedule JC squads as "exhibitions?" There are quite a few good ones within a couple hrs. drive time that could fill the competitive void.
