MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
This week's Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week are Missouri State's Jeremy Eierman and Sam Perez, respectively.

MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Jeremy Eierman, Fr., SS, Missouri State
Jeremy Eierman recorded his hottest stretch of the season this past week, batting .556 (10-for-18) with a pair of home runs, 12 RBIs and seven runs scored to lead Missouri State to wins in all four of its outings. The freshman started his week with a bang, becoming the first Bear to log five hits in a game since 2012 in the Bears’ 8-2 win over Arkansas, Eierman homered twice, scored three runs and drove home four more to kick off a string of three straight games in which he registered either four hits or four RBIs. In Thursday’s win over Illinois State, the Missouri State shortstop delivered the key hit, a three-run double, in the Bears’ six-run seventh inning to finish his night with four RBIs. The following night, he came back with a 4-for-5 day, driving in three runs and scoring three more in a 17-5 win for Missouri State.

Other Notable Performances: Andy Shadid (BU); Matt Duce (DBU); Greyson Jenista (WSU).

MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Sam Perez, Sr., RHP, Missouri State
Sam Perez played prominent roles in three of the Bears’ four wins last week, piling up 17 strikeouts while scattering just seven hits over 10.0 combined scoreless innings of relief. In Tuesday’s road win at Arkansas, Perez tossed 3.0 innings of hitless relief to earn his 18th career victory, as part of a combined one-hitter in an 8-2 decision that completed a season sweep of the SEC power. The right-hander also fanned a season-high nine hitters over 4.2 innings Thursday vs. Illinois State, surpassing MSU’s single-season record for mound appearances in the process. The Branson, Mo., native came back in Saturday’s series finale to allow only three baserunners in his 2 1/3 innings to help MSU complete a sweep of the Redbirds.

Other Notable Performances: Cameron Roegner (BU); Seth Elledge (DBU); Ryan Keaffaber (INS); Joey Marciano (SIU); John Hayes (WSU).
