I am looking for someone from Terre Haute that is coming to Nashville for the Belmont game. I would love to have a six pack of the THBC Sycamore Cream Ale. I will make it worth your while.

Guess it's not meant to be. I drank a lot of beer in my time at ISU but had never heard of THBC until this beer was introduced. very oss seeing that it is the second oldest brewery in the country.

Love to help you out but coming down from Louisville. Any consolation, I’ll be happy to buy you a pregame beer. Just look me up on Broadway.

The current brewery is the old building where Champaign Velvet was brewed for many years. I think it closed in the early 60's, but was during a time one of the top 5 beers in the midwest in sales. The entire complex around S 7th Street to 9th Street was the site of the old brewery. I was in school during the early 70's and I had no idea that this old warehouse was one of the main buildings where Champagne Velvet was made. About 12 years ago, someone bought the formula and put out a craft version of it locally. Then the recipe was recently purchased by Upland Brewery in Bloomington, Indiana. Upland is one of the larger craft brewery's in the state. Terre Haute Brewing Company was founded just recently, makes its own craft beers and does not offer Champagne Velvet at its taproom even though they may have other local craft beer available. The Sycamore Brand Beer is supposed to be a cream ale, but it is almost more like a smooth German Pils. Very drinkable and great on tap. The can version is very good but I prefer the draft version. Hopefully we will have it on tap and not just cans in the future at Hulman Center and home Football Games. Perhaps another Sycamore Pride member can clarify a few things from my post as to the dates of the beginning of Champagne Velvet in Terre Haute and the year the original brewery closed. It was quite a complex and took up a few square blocks. The current Stable Inn Steak House and Moggers Rest and Pub were all buildings that were made up of the old Champagne Velvet Brewery complex.

Tried to edit my previous post, but it looks like I took too long. It is late...sorry for the errors in grammer and punctuation

I'm just waiting for Luke Martin to come out with a video of Schertz (wearing Avila goggles) getting off the Turner Bus holding a case of beer and delivering it swsycamore in the stands.

Thanks 4Q_iu!! Love Champagne Velvet and very happy with the Upland version. We have an Upland tap house near my home in Carmel and the beer is always available at all the local Big Red and other liquor stores. Hoping our Nashville alum and board member will get an opportunity to try both brands in the near future. Go Big Blue

If Upland wanted really to sell this product - use the nitrogen carbonation technique, that would be a quality product
