Indiana State University will launch a stationless bike share program as part of campus’ annual Earth Day celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 18 on the quad.

It’s a good idea on paper, but with the program being station-less it can cause problems. Dallas has a HUGE problem with its bikes. They get left everywhere and litter the entire city. Obviously ISU’s campus is not nearly as large, but these can become a problem and get out of hand quickly if not monitored. These can also become prime targets for pranksters. It’s very common here for kids to take these and put them in peoples’ trees, yards, etc.
