He has been a 77/78% shooter or should I say maker before this season. What has happened to his psych? Not just missing them at crucial times but air-balling several. I can understand him not shooting as well from the field as he gets the best defender in his face most of the time but there is no one guarding him at the free throw line. Any Sports Therapists on the faculty anymore? He seems extremely

To me, shooting FT's is like putting. You need to take your time. Our team, generally speaking, is not shooting FT's as well as they should.
Or maybe they are just not good shooters. Our FG% is certainly nothing to brag about.

And putting like freethrows is confidence!

The similarities make it a great analogy. Some people lineup 6 footers, address the ball and put it. Some people take a practice stroke. Etc. etc. etc.

At the end of the day no matter what you do pre putt or pre shot its all about confidence and trusting your practice. If it gets in your head and the self doubt creeps in your in trouble. Quite frankly it's human nature. Pro athletes struggle with it the same. I've seen Tiger Woods get the yips on chip shots and I've seen Ernie Ells make a 5 putt.

It happens!

Actually the same kind of thing happened to me. Many eons ago, I was a pretty good catcher for Eastern express in Terre Haute Babe Ruth. I overthrew the pitcher returning the ball to the mound ONCE and my coach (who was a COMPLETE asshole and was booted out of the league the next season) crawled up my ass to the point that i developed a phobia throwing the ball back to the mound. I could nail the ball to second base from my knees, but damned if I could return the ball to the pitcher.

lol Jared Saltalamacchia had the same problem when he was up in the MLB...Sent his ass down to minor leagues to work on the problem haha

I see lots of excuses & comparisons for his poor f/t shooting. Guess we need to keep the ball away from him at the end of games where fouling is imminent? Apparently no one can fix it so they just roll with it.

I trust Jordan Barnes at the free throw line more than anyone else on this team.

I hope that Lansing will recognize who the best FT shooter is and utilize him appropriately in Technical Foul situations. Doubtful, but hopeful.
