GuardShock

The All-MVC Level
Is there any stats of the two in high school? I'd like to compare the two and was curious. Bryson isn't having a bad year at Purdon't for a freshman. Might also be interesting since Brenton will probably have a decent sized role and have a year of practice under his belt.

They are not similar. Bryson drives a lot by virtue of being strong, quick and an EXCELLENT ball handler. He was more of a scorer in HS than Brenton, although Brenton got his share and played more of a PG role. Brenton, I believe, has the school record for 3's. I saw him play on TV once and he had 8 3's. At the top 40 he played out of his brother's shadow and scored at will with 3's, drives and jumpers. At the top 40, one could have been convinced that he was the best guard in the state.

So is Brenton coming in to fill the void in PG role next year? I would assume we're gonna run a similar offense but with a new face. Bryson could be a 4 year pg like Jake? Not sure, just asking questions. I don't know anything about him.

I'm curious at why Bryson got BIG10 schools and Brenton didn't. From what I've seen the kid is a real shooter. I hope he handles the ball well. Maybe a true match up against vanvleet.

If you watch Bryson, you will notice that he is bigger and "looks" stronger. I don't know if he is a better handler than Brenton but I think his style of play and driving a lot shows it off more. I'm sure Brenton is a better shooter from what I've seen, but that has been limited.

Well he is 6 foot 165 out of HS and that prolly didn't help Brenton get D1 looks. The more prolific scoring brother caught the B10 eye.

Between how amazing of a year Tre Bennett is having and the fact that Brenton has gotten to pick up everything that JO can do. I feel like we're gonna be quite strong at the PG position next year.

While I may disagree with "strong", i will say it won't be the position I will worry about the most going into next season.

I just wish Scott would have played this year and got the experience of playing at this level.

Well I see that, but he has the perfect scenario to get serious minutes his next 4 years. He will have had a great PG to learn from, and then essentially him as PG and Tre as a PG/SG. Now I know we are basing what Tre can do at a lower level he's still making clutch shots, shooting well, and quite a few assists. But what I'm saying is that Brenton is learning from an experienced team right now and then he will have multiple shooters around him. AND I see quite the matchup of him and Vanvleet. Vanvleet is a sophomore I believe and man that would be a hell of a match up for two years.

Im not worried about Smith, I am worried about the off guard position IF neither he or Etherington spend significant time there. If both primarily split time at the small forward position, then the off guard position becomes a greater concern to me than the point guard position.

Do you think Tre will take over the SG position with Devonte as a back up? That would leave us with Brenton as PG with Devonte playing backup to both the 1 and the 2 guard.

You would then have two guards under 6' out there together. Tre can play the off guard but I don't know that it suits him. Both he and Scott appear to be plus shooters and Bennett seems to love to drive and has the body to handle contact, just don't know how often we will see them on the court together.

Depending on where Khristian and Etherington line up, we have three guards next year for the two positions, and I feel like two of them (Bennett and Scott) are stronger as PGs than SGs. I say that feeling that Paige will redshirt.
