Calvin's the man this year. Dowdell can not play the first 2 games. Dowdell could possibly regain the Qb job the 3rd game, but I doubt it. Schmidtke would have to really not play good. Dowdell also hasn't looked very good recently in practice.

So what's everyone's opinion on this????

Also, the Big Auburn kid was at practice the other day, so he might just play after all.
The O-line needs shored up. Let's hope he can play.

I know I've missed something... What's up with Dowdell?

Lee Tilley? I thought Golden had mentioned in an article he didn't qualify academically? I wonder how that changed?

I know schools can ask for a waiver if a student is just short of meeting all academic requirements. If you check out the ncaa clearinghouse website there is information relating to academic requirements and related waivers. I know this young man could be valuable help to our o-line.

i was out at practice for a short bit this morning....

before i headed on over to rose-hulman for colts training camp. while i have heard the same thing about dowdell potentially sitting out the first two games from fellow media people, i don't know how true it is. i did find it curious that dowdell was working with the no. 1 offense during a walkthrough at the beginning of practice this morning. maybe it doesn't mean anything at all. but when they started doing the walkthrough, dowdell went out with the first group and schmidtke was with the second group. and dowdell had a football in his hand, so that must mean something...lol....

as for tilley, it will be interesting to see what happens. while he is big, i hear that he never played a down at auburn. but i think that there is some isu connection there, a former player who has some ties to the kid.

My sources tell me that Tilley cannot play this year. However, he will be a Sycamore for the 2009 season.

Although he won't play this year, he is still a great addition for the future.

It is a fact that number 7 will not be playing in the first two games of this season........so its pretty safe to say that it is the frosh's job to lose as far as Lee Tilley goes i got the chance to see him at the wide world of sports a few years ago (which is a major kawikiedink that he ended up @ state) and i will tell you that he has the potential in 4 years to be first ISU player to be drafted high in recent years. he played behind some solid returning starters at AU but his athletically ability, size, mean streak, and Coach U will give sycamore fans a taste of what a true NFL offensive lineman looks like. Do ya thang big fella

Can somebody post an update on how today's scrimmage went for people like myself who were to far away from Terre Haute to get there today.
