TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The counting period toward earning at-large points for the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's National Championship begins this week with Indiana State joining a large contingent of championship contenders at the 59th Annual Adidas Notre Dame Invitational on Friday. The women's race will be 5,000 meters (5K) while the men's race will be five (5) miles.

mixed bag of results today, Great race for Mascari getting 3rd, we beat IUPUI, but lost by 3 points to Bradley, they are MUCH improved with their new coach now. They'll be favorite to win at MVC's.

Teamwise, needed more guys in the top 100, 24:33 was 100th. There's just a huge gap between John and the others. Hopefully by the end of the year that gap closes because we'll need a tighter pack at pre-natty's and the MVC and regional meets.
 
The MVC meet is really gonna be a battle folks! Between ISU, SIU, and Bradley, anyone could win. SIU's 4-5 guys were back a ways, so I'd put them 3rd now, but ISU and Bradley are right there together through 5, kicking down a couple runners at the end could make a huge difference at the MVC meet.
 
as for the women, I think they ended about where expected, those times were also on a short course I believe, so not sure what their true 5ks would have been. Looks like they will need to close the gap between 2-5 to do well at the MVC meet, great race for the top 2 though!

Mascari Third For Men At Notre Dame Invitational; Lucas Finishes 16th For Women

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Sycamore junior John Mascari raced to a third place finish in the Blue Division of the Notre Dame Adidas Invitational Friday to lead the Indiana State men's cross country team to a 20th place finish. Senior Nicole Lucas finished 16th in the women's Gold Division to lead the Sycamores to a 16th place finish.
