Indiana State pitcher Colin Rea has been drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 12th round of the MLB Amateur Draft.

Maybe we will get to see him in Ft. Wayne this year. They are the low A team for the Padres

Now, we'll have two starting positions open!! I mentioned a couple of weeks ago the perhaps Hochstedler would be a good starter? We also had a few freshmen (Pazik, Negele & Kudrecki) that were being groomed, but saw little action. Right now the only sure thing we have is Manaea. Anyone have some good ideas?

Scott West could be a starter, he was a starting pitcher for the last 3 years for West Vigo. We have a lot of pitchers in this years recruiting class also, which that could help also.

I know every kids dream is to go pro.Anybody out there know what kind of money we're talking about in each round of the draft?It's a double edged sword for ISU,you've got to have kids good enough to be drafted,but you hope they stay all 4 years too.If Jeremy Lucas keeps playing so well we'll surely lose him to in the near future.
