And I agree.....and...I predicted this would happen. Ask my two sons, and all of my fellow Colts fans in Fort Wayne.

I've always said, some day, we aren't going to have 12 and 14 win seasons...and when we do...we have to remember, we are still Colts fans!

Kinda like us....we are still ISU fans....through thick and thin....and boy have we done our share of thin!
That same phenomenon also happens at ANY stadium that plays the Steelers on the road. They are amongst the best traveled teams in the NFL and have been for years and similar tickets sales happen with the Packer fans around the league as well. This guy wanted to sell newspapers and writing that kind of "got 'em when they're down" byline is nothing new. I will be the first to admit that some Colt's fans are totally clueless as to how to handle all of this but not having #18 out there would be traumatic within anybody's fan base. I'd say, let's keep an eye on the long-term trend with Colt's fans but right now, they are up there near to the top in Jersey and sportswear sales in the league as well and I will use that barometer to see how we are doing with the rest of the league.

Yeah steeler fans are pretty fair-weather fans themselves.

ALL teams are at one point or another. When this season started, if any of our fans had said our team was going from the Penthouse to the outhouse in a matter of 30 days, you would call him a sicko. Now that it has happened, a few of our character flaws may be surfacing. I know the guy who writes the check for $7,560 for our six seats certainly has shown some serious defects in the past three weeks. If they show a little taste of panic because a ticket that would have sold to a broker at over face-value, is now worth pennies on the dollar. That would piss me off as well. I am afraid there are more flaws to come.

I disagree with some of that..........Cleveland Browns followers aren't fair weather fans....there are lots of them, like Bears fans in NE Indiana....win or lose.....and mostly lose...they're Browns and Bears fans, to the bitter end. You have to admire that kind of loyalty.

Gotta hav, there are some exceptions but those teams are solid fan bases that have been around for a very long time. (I am aware that Browns are "changed" but it is still a long-standing fan base). There were a lot of Browns fans the previous week too but let's be honest here, Curtis Painter isn't a huge draw, this is Peyton's team and he's not there. This season will suck for the most part and my hopes is that our fan base will remain strong but it is a true test, that's for sure.

By and large, Chicago sport fans are some of the most indifferent I've ever met. If they're winning, they won't shut up; losing, you never hear a word, wouldn't even know they follow sports. It will be interesting to see how Indy comes out of this. They, Peyton mostly, have built a generation of young fans who will be devoted far beyond a few bad seasons. As for this story, it's no big deal. It's a bad season so several season ticket holders take a little less of a hit by selling some of their tickets. You see that often.
