This is madness you have to leave some reason for the fans to follow your team. There will be no name recognition on this team look for the sell outs to end . Fans will not pay NFL prices to watch teams that they do not associate with .

The season ticket money was due on MARCH 2! (a smart move, however) and of course, that was before any of this took place. Since the Colt's have sold out for a decade, the REAL problem will be next year (2013), not this coming season. It will affect the 3,000 we average ABOVE capacity however. After the 2-14 season however, I am sure the renewals were down for the first time in a long time. They claim that they have 20,000 on the wait list, a number I have felt that has been exaggerated the last couple of years. If they do have the 20K, they will quickly go back up to capacity. We'll see. We have had our season tickets since day 1 and we're sticking it out. Most will, some will not. Tough situation but trust me, it has been a miserable week for me personally, but I know that their thinking is and I understand it.

They've given you 10 years of amazing football and a Super Bowl. Eventually, the salary cap will catch up with you when you back load contracts and spend a ton of money and with Manning's injury, it was like the perfect storm.

I also think you're wrong on the second part. While they may not sell out, the season ticket holders that drop will be replaced with one of the thousands of people on the waiting list. Some people associate with the team and will be proud to stick with them or start (for the new ticket holders) with the team during the rebuilding process. If you listened to sports radio, you wouldn't believe how many callers started with "I was here when we had Duane Bickett and Rohn Stark as our stars..." and similar stuff.

This is going to be a great way to see actually who the die-hard Colts fans were. Another sports radio caller made an awesome analogy and I shared it with my wife who was really a Peyton fan. Peyton and the Colts you knew were like your old dog... you shared some amazing memories and they did some real cool shit. But they're gone now, so you mourn the dog's loss but that isn't going to stop you from going out and getting a new puppy and guess what? You're going to share some awesome memories with that new puppy and hopefully he can do some really cool shit, too.

Being a Bears fan, I've been saddled with one of the worst family owners and have had horrible general managers and coaches. Consider yourself lucky that you've got an owner that is proactive in the process because being on the reactive side of things sucks badly. The Bears have an aging roster and I don't see any attempt for a quick rebuild like the Colts are trying to do.

Jason I see what you mean and don't really disagree with you. I am a loyal person I believe you stay loyal to the ones who have been just that loyal. Am I a so called true colts fan yes will I always be yes. I guess its my love of blue. But here's a question for you young man what makes you such a QB expert being a bears fan lol jk

There is nothing to disagree with, it's simply a matter of numbers.

So let me ask you this. Say they kept everyone and went 5-11 for the next 3 years as those guys continued to get older and not perform at the levels like they could earlier in their careers. You'd be okay with that?

As for the QB comment, that's just not Bears football and why I want Lovie gone as well. Chicago Bear football is tough ass defense and run the ball. Our running game stinks and our defense is getting old.

Uh, they're getting ready to draft the best QB prospect since Peyton Manning. I think there will be plenty of people anxious to go to the games.

Keep in mind, they're dumping stars on a 2-14 team, most of them are aging guys who are injury prone to say the least. They aren't irreplaceable. And with the money they're freeing up, they can go after young, quality free agents this year and next.

Colt fans need to start getting excited and quit mourning the past. Celebrate the past decade and get excited about what could soon come. We need some positive energy.

However you want to say it the people they are cutting is still going to cost against the cap . Not having a QB that is the face of your franchise will cost you . The same as not having a quality coach will cost you . You cannot bank your entire future on a prospect look at some of the all time flops Ryan Leaf , Jeff George just to name two. You have to keep the fans interest or they will not stay interested in you .

You can't? Then what were the last 14 years with Peyton Manning?

How interested were the fans going to be when these overthehill players continued to produce 2-14 seasons and prevented the introduction of new blood and new system? Yes, they will count against the cap this year, but not their entire cap number. It will allow them to start bringing in some new players now.

Have some faith!
