How crazy is it to think we will be playing UNI this coming weekend with a very realistic shot at a conference championship on the line. We're talking about the kind of game we haven't had at Indiana State in more than a decade! This is the type of game big time schools with legitimate student fan bases get pumped up for!!! The type of game we didn't have when I was a student and when many others were students. There are no excuses, NONE, for students who are football fans not to show up for this game. This is a big time, HUGE conference game.

I'd guess more like 2 decades, but none the less, it's exciting times at ISU. And to think basketball starts next week too!

If you have any pride in yourself, your education and the name of the school that will show up on your resume for the rest of your life, you show up for the UNI game next weekend. You don't and your only excuse is "It's ISU football, meh," then you have no excuse to bitch about anything. I know I've griped before about harping on the attendance after a big win and I don't mean to today, but I'm seeing it now as an opportunity. A chance to turn things around for the university in more ways than one. It matters!

And the students of today have a chance to be the generation that's a part of it, that acts and changes things. How can you ask for anything cooler than that? Okay, now I'm done.

Next week is a HUGE game maybe the biggest game since the 90's for this program! They will be playing to clinch a winning season, an undefeated season at home and oh yeah a tie for 1st place in the conference. I think next week is gonna be awesome! Ill be there will you???????

I couldn't be there today (and it was killing me), but I WILL BE THERE next Saturday. Unless it's some kind of horrendous weather day, the crowd should be at near-Homecoming numbers. Pray for a DRY day. Party on, TREES. The stadium will be rockin'! A great way to end the HOME season.

Something to consider. Each of the three MVC teams we've beaten this year has three conference wins and is middle of the pack. SIU and Youngstown State are at the bottom of the conference standings. We can win those games! Beating UNI is indeed as huge as it gets. We'd still need WIU to lose, but all we can do is focus on our opponents. We're in third place in late October. That would have been unbelievable to most of us before the state of the season.

Bent--I like the enthusiasm! You should drive around the campus this week with one of those megaphones on the top of your car. I'm trying to gather up a group to come down with us from Chicago--it is a HUGE game, and the players are already getting jacked.

Tell me if im wrong. If we win out at worst we tie for the conference championship? do we get the playoff bid due to being the last team to go?

I guess WIU could beat UNI and then they would have the head to head win.

I will speak no more of this and just hope for a win against UNI.

Right now, if ISU wins out they could win the MVFC title and the autobid, but ISU needs help, WIU needs to lose, if ISU beats UNI then ISU owns that tiebreaker. ISU owns the tiebreaker over MSU too. N. Dak. St. already has 3 MVFC losses, so if ISU wins out they'll be ahead of N. Dak. St. despite the fact ISU lost to them.

Cap'n, You've been a friend of the Trees, and told us through last year that good things were coming, but be honest, did you seeing us playing Northern Iowa at this point in the season for a share of first place in the MVFC???
