I am still waiting on the USATF to post the most recent Regional Rankings - I am not sure that we have done enough to garner enough points to move ahead of Dayton who finished 3rd in the A-10 this past weekend (their highest team finish ever). However keep in mind that Dayton was picked to win the A-10 and they finished 3rd. If they are looking for a reason to support moving the Sycamores ahead of Dayton that would be it. Dayton has 3 front runners that make them dangerous - other than that I-State has a deeper team that Dayton, we would beat Dayton in a dual meet more than likely.

I don't really see where ND did anything to warrant their #5 ranking in the Great Lakes Regional - I mean they finished 6th in the Big East Championships, the 5 teams ranked ahead of them are nationally ranked teams all in the top 25. They have not really been that impressive all year - a down year for the Irish.

Michigan finished 5th in the Big Tens and did not do themselves any favors loosing to Indiana and Ohio State. Keep in mind that Ohio State is ranked 8th in the Great Lakes region and finished 2nd at Big Tens - I would suspect that Ohio State will move up a couple spots for sure.

Here is the way I see it: Might be wishful thinking, but I don't see how the Sycamores could move from 7th to 8th and it's quite obvious that Ohio State will move ahead of the Sycamores finishing runner up at Big Eleven.

Wisconsin
Butler
Michigan
Ohio State
Indiana
Indiana State
Notre Dame
Dayton

Yeah I did but I messed it up - that would have put Michigan way higher than they should be anyways.. And the rankings are posted. I State moved down to 8th - which sucks, but it aint the end of the world. I will post them when I get back from playing basketball...

Really Morgan?! I've always been told that nd is SUPERIOR to everyone in every way... Course is WAS from a bunch of nd fans (and some alumni!) they convinced the casual fan LONG ago that nd will always be ranked at / near the top in anything, they have to be, they're nd...!

What are the Men's chances in the NCAAs?

Well they are going to need one heck a performance next weekend - is it going to take a miracle? No I wouldn't say that but they are going to have to run really nice and hope that teams like ND, Dayton, Michigan struggle and that no other teams behind us in the rankings do really well (I don't suspect that will happen).

People have talked about the Great Lakes Regional being down this year well if that is the case then why does it look to me like the Sycamores are the best #8 ranked team in the entire country? I mean really? Now this region has long been one of the top 3 or so divisions in the country (I am totally talking out my :censored, I don't know that for a fact).

We have to finish in the top 6 to even get considered, but I think they will take 5 teams from the Great Lakes Region - if the Sycamores are 6th, I do believe they will be on the bubble and get strong consideration for an at large bid.

They beat ND & Florida up in South Bend; but at Pre-Nats, Florida topped them and ND was higher in their race. So the two teams that they have points are are negated. They should have a point on Ohio State from Pre-Nats. Looking at things I'm guessing this-

Wisco & Butler get autos
The Big-10 meet made things a mess
IU has points, but ran piss poor and got beat by Ohio State who came out from showing not much earlier. Michigan hasn't run anything worthy of them getting taken as of yet, nor Notre Dame. Dayton can not beat them again, that will be the deal knell; same applies to Kent State, though the beat Wisconsin's b-team the last week before points count. Atleast we can boast the Valley being better than the MAC this year.

If Ohio State & IU go 3-4 there's a good chance they should both get in. If Notre Dame, Mich, or us can get in there between them, likely, if it's more than two, very ify. If all three, big mess. Shot for two guys All-Region, three more below 50, and there's a good shot

All this banks on the fact that Scott is running - what do you know about this?

I am going to post an interview with him and Eric tonight - but last I heard he was "out" this weekend. Don't know if you know any better than I do? But they have to have him, not that I doubt any of the other guys. But Scott has proven that he can run with that level of competition.

Yeah that's what I am hearing and that just hurts... What a rough way to end your cross country career, I hate it that he has to go out like that.

But he will be a doc in a few years making that real jack and he won't be worried about no injury. We all know money makes everything better..... right.
