Here's our chance to make it a clean sweep against all Phoenixes! (unless there's another one I'm not thinking of...)

Elon is an okayish team. They had had pretty high expectations coming into the season, and they haven't played poorly...just not all that good either. They do have 7 wins on the season, but none of them are against anyone good. Their 7 wins are against an average KenPom ranking of 238. Their best win on the year is at home against Radford (180 KenPom) who they beat 77-74. Their four losses are all against the teams they should have lost to (Duke, UNCG, Furman and UW-Milwaukee). Elon is just extremely average.

Bottom line, Elon is pretty much our equal. Not good...not too bad either. It's a team that we should beat at home, but I expect the game to be close. It wouldn't be a big shocker if we lost, but it's a team that if we're playing our best we should beat.

Elon has a minus-turnover ratio, which might be something to keep an eye on. We give up back cuts quite a bit. Passes from the top of the key / wing that are ontime have been slicing the Trees up. Perhaps if they're a step slower with the passes, the boys will have time to recover and at least tip a few.

Our offense is Barnes missing threes.

To be fair, he's open when he has been shooting. I'll take missing open shots.

I prefer that over forcing it into the post and watching Murph sit on the ball allowing a second guy come in and knock it off him. Either make a move or rotate the ball.

If you're going to run Hughes at the 4 and have him playing perimeter offense, we're going to get beat. Murphy isn't a dominant rebounder and he is routinely the only Sycamore within 15 feet of the hoop. That's shit offense.

We we are a mess. Out of control, sloppy basketball. Meanwhile, Elon is crisp, patient, focused.
