This s certainly a winnable game.
CU has played a typical power-5 conference schedule so far. Nothing but a bunch of home games and only a few (2) true road games. In those road games they lost @ San Diego and just recently won on the road @ New Mexico. Otherwise, they've feasted at home against the likes of UIC, Omaha, Portland, etc. They did host MVC powerhouse Drake, which they stomped 100-71, in their season opener.
I'll admit that I've yet to see CU play a single minute this year, but looking at their stats and their roster there's only a few that stand out. McKinley Wright is their best player, and he's kind of a Jordan Barnes clone standing only at a listed 6'0"...which means he's more like 5'9". He appears to be much more of a slasher than a shooter. He's only shooting 23% from three, but he gets to the line more than any other Buff and he shoots 50% from the field. Defending dribble penetration is going to be tough with that guy.
Lucas Siewert will be a matchup problem as a 6'10" forward who can shoot the three, and he's not shy about doing it. Tyler Bey is their do-it-all wing, who really gets to the glass and can score. Williams, Hughes and Rickman are all going to need to show up on the boards to keep these guys from generating second and third chance possessions.
Since I have not seen CU play, I won't make a score prediction. We should keep it close either way. Go Trees!!!
