This should be a pretty evenly-matched game. Just based on Sagarin ratings, Utah State is pretty similar to us (ranked 109 to our 124). There's not a lot of middle-ground with their record this year. When they've won, they've won big with an average margin of victory of 20 PPG (excluding their D2 win). And, when they've lost they've lost big with an average margin of defeat of 20 PPG. Their wins aren't very impressive either with their 3 D1 wins coming against an average Sagarin rating of 216. Their most impressive win is against UC Irvine at home.

I know nothing about Utah State, so I'm only surmising my opinion by their box scores and team stats.

They are a fairly balanced scoring team with a beast of a player in the frontcourt: F Jalen Moore. On the year he's averaging 18 PPG and 4 RPG while shooting 43% from three. Against Purdue, who has a terrific frontcourt, he scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He's very good and will be a real matchup problem for us. Koby McEwen is their best guard, a freshman averaging double digits and shooting 40% from three. His backcourt mate, Shane Rector, is pretty good too averaging 10 PPG. Rector looks like more of a slasher who gets to the line (think Devonte Brown) and isn't much of a threat from three.

This is a road game against a team we appear to be able to compete with. I'm guessing it'll be like just about every other game we've played this year - a back and forth battle that'll come down to execution in the final minutes. Going on a long road trip like this and stealing a victory will be a great feather in our cap as we progress through the non-con.

For anyone who is unaware of Utah State's student section...they have the potential for being pretty raucous. And since our game is a Saturday night game, I'm sure it'll be well attended....maybe not quite like below, but still well attended.

So cool. Seriously. I'm jealous of that kind of atmosphere, ESPECIALLY from (and for) a mid major.

a game we could, and can win, however, given our lack of success on these far west trips, i.e., @ Wyoming, @ UCLA, @ Boise State, @ Alaska Anchorage, I wouldn't bet the farm on an ISU win. Hopefully this group responds better to the travel and comes home with a win.

This is a must win game if we want to have a shot at finishing .500 in the non-conference since we follow this up with Butler, Western Kentucky, Valpo and EIU.

Anyone watched a game on the "Mountain West Network"? If so, how well does it work and what is the cost?

Aggie fan here. The Mountain West Network works pretty well and it is free. You will be able to watch the game here:

If you have a Chromecast or Roku then you can watch it with the Livestream app.

I'm looking forward to the game tonight.

I have a good feeling about tonight. Still would love to see Rickman hit the floor before Murphy does, MVS and Neils need to be on short leashes also. Should be a fun game to watch and always interesting to play an unfamiliar opponent in an unfamiliar place! Go Sycs!
