Yes, because Disney films are a bastion of evil...why do we spend money on this BS? Utterly stupid...

I'm simply questioning whether we should be spending money on this stuff. Budgets are tight, and there are so many things waaaaaaaaay more important than looking for the boogey-man in Disney films...

Agree! We're talking about a 'movement' that spent days and days screeching about 'how poorly the female lions in The Lion King are portrayed...' 'that if you watch The Lion King, you'll be left w/ the impression that the Lionesses in a pride do most/all of the hunting and parenting and etc than the Lion does... that all the Lion does all day is sleep and have sex with the Lionesses..." sadly, it's true. The Lionesses DO do most of the hunting, and 'parenting' and etc, etc than the Lion. That's just the way they (Lions) are. Disney didn't make it up b/c IT'S TRUE!

BTW -- Look at the rest of that list and the movies / topics being reviewed!

No big deal. Those folks need something gather over and bitch about. They probably would wonder why we have a forum for sports. If they actually new there were sites just for sports. Don't get me wrong I think it's dumber than heck but to each their own.

I'm not so concerned about this topic, or the other ones, but what is disconcerting is the make up of the panel and what it tells about race, gender and class at ISU, and the disturbing conclusions that will come out of this so called inclusive and diverse group of nannies, whiners, sexist's, and bigots and the so called values they will espouse and spread, under the pretense of innocence and fun.

I think 4q should attend this event and represent all the Lion's of THE Sycamore Pride, and show 'em who's the real king....make sure your burp, fart, and spill a pop...oh, and I wouldn't bath or shave for at least 4 or 5 days in advance of their lil' feminist discussion panel.

The film is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. in Hulman Memorial Student Union, Dede II. A discussion session will follow by faculty and staff members Karen Liu, professor of elementary, early and special education; Joni Clark, interim associate director of student wellness; Namita Goswami, assistant professor of philosophy; Marlene Lu, office assistant at the Blumberg Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Special Education; and Martha Reed, administrative assistant in the Career Center

Let me know when the class discussion of "Flash Gordon" takes place, I will show up for class that day.
