as i stated before.....just because you were a quarterback in high school doesnt mean that you are going to be a quarterback in college....

some kids are recruited simply as athletes....who can play a variety of positions.....just like a ryan roberts....or, in the past, Dan Brandenburg and Perry Willett...both were high school quarterbacks who both ended up playing outside linebacker and defensive tackle....respectively.....

Tom, do you know how many scholy players we can bring on this year? I thought it was between 10-15. Correct me if Im wrong.

In the Sycamore Nation article on Trent Miles last month, he mentioned 10-12 scholarships being available for this years' class. I haven't heard of any scholarship players that are not returning--are there any? I agree to some extent on the QBs being able to be moved around, but unlikely as a defensive lineman these days. The good athletes can play WR/DB, the ones with size or projected size, maybe TE/LB. Let's make sure we have 2-3 real QBs first though.

The masthead on this site is telling, and the next couple of years will show where this program is heading. Of the 7 ISU players shown, only one (Antoine Brown) is a Senior. Other than that, there are 5 Sophomores (including only one RS Soph) and a RS Freshman. All of them are key contributors, and they will be moving into being upperclassmen next season. Several are locked into positions (Archie, Hardy, Borchers), but the others are or could be intriguing. Roberts can play many positions (and just might play several next year); Geffert started as a D-Lineman, and after he moved from Center was a very good O-Lineman; and Sewall has effectively returned kicks in a couple of games, and punts in the last game-he was also a slot receiver and RB in HS. I say play these athletes in key situations wherever they are needed.

also take into consideration that 1AA scholarships are not head counts, like 1A. ONE scholarship can be broken in half and given to two players. I know many players on the team are just on tuition, or just on room & board. So technically, with one scholarship, you can get two players. Is that correct?

Correct. Although they probably need to give full offers to any D1 transfers (Fouch, any linemen...). I would assume that Bell may also have a full offer. Most of the other MVFC schools offer partials to incoming Freshmen, then up the offer for those players that pan out.
