I am a little surprised that they didn't mention Arop as a transfer from Gonzaga. I think the top 4 or so selections probably aren't that far off. The rest of the picks seemed like they are just throwing darts at a board and trying to make up reasons for the selections!

Probably pretty accurate considering the players several teams have comimg back.I would pick us 6th or 7th myself and we'll see how the guys gell as the season develops.

I hate the term "caught lightning in a bottle" that other Valley fans kept throwing our way after our Sycamores won the Valley tourney year before last but last year's under achieving team did nothing to dispel those comments. Until ISU can show some consistency from season to season for a few consecutive seasons they will never get any kind of respect around the league from the fans or from the other teams. The answer is to ALWAYS show up, play hard & refuse to lose....................... We can be a lot better this upcoming season but the question is will we be?

My opinion has always been that the winner of the MVC Tournament is hot that weekend. In this league you have to be to win 3 in 3 days. That goes for CU this year as well it takes a good team but look at what ISUr did this year. Hot shooting about put them in the dance.

I don't know where the trees will finish but I doubt it's 9th. You guys really filled some holes with spring recruiting and I am very excited to see Smith play. Cummings is a good guard that can really shoot it can he replace JP, I don't know but he will not be a liability. The only Question mark I see is the 5 spot, is Samuels a D1 big? He doesn't have eye popping juco stats but doesn't mean he won't step his game up. Defensively is where I see the biggest concern for the Sycs. I have read the comments that say the athleticism will be improved this year, I don't know if that is true or false but when Latham, Richard, and Myles leave (3 of the most athletic defenders at their positions in the league) I feel like there should be a little drop off. Furthermore I always felt that Odum was afforded more chances at jumping passes or pressing the ball because of the teams length. Just my perception I see the Sycs around 6th but last time I picked the tress to finish there they danced and my bears didn't.

The great crystal ball picks. Maybe its the pull the team out of the hat picks. There are way to many variables to give any quality preditions yet. Is there an avantage to summer travel? Six of the seven top teams in the conference traveled last year. How good are the incoming recruits and transfers? How hard is the team working off season to strenthen their games? Who doesn't show up for next year? Who gets injured and is taken out of the line up? Who has the unknown diamond in the ruff that comes out shining?

Picking one or two teams as front runners based on returning starters is one thing but other than that I don't see predicting this early as anything more than throwing darts at a target in a darkroom.
