Eastern Illinois Game Thread (9/6/25 @ 1PM)

They just came off of a 24-14 win against Dayton from the Pioneer League. Being a home game, and based on what I saw out of EIU at their Spring Game, I think this is a must win for the Sycamores. If we can't beat this EIU squad then we just quite simply are not going to have a decent season at all. There's really no other way to put it.

Have to put 4 quarters of consistency out there. Lots to clean up from the last game.

I watched a bit of the EIU game after our game last Thursday. Based on what I saw, the game as usual will be very tight. EIU seemed like a faster team overall. No surprise, we always look slow to me. I expect both teams to be a better version of themselves. We need to contain their QB and just play better “D” overall. The X factor could be our kicking game. ISU’s seems to be a strength. I’ll take the sycamores and give 3 points.

Controlling the line of scrimmage as well. McKendree really ran the ball against us at times. Owens had to run after the pocket collapsed, so the pass protection needs to improve.

Our kicking game is a positive, until the snap goes flying off into the sunset!
