Here you go. A quick and dirty guide on how to get around ESPN3 blacking out games.

1. Open up Google Chrome.
2. Download the GeoProxy extension - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/geoproxy/pooljnboifbodgifngpppfklhifechoe?hl=en
3. In your browser, you should not see a little blue globe with a white G in it. Click on that.
4. It will now give you a menu. From the drop down, scroll down to United States and then click Search.
5. It will now display a list of available proxies. Select one.
6. Try to access the blacked out event on ESPN3.

NOTE: A couple of the proxies in the list were too slow or didn't connect so I just went through the list until I found an acceptable one.

The issue of media coverage reared its ugly head last night for me. This has been a thorn in my side for 30+ years. I was driving home from Chicago going through Terre Haute listening to the game. You can not get ISU games on the radio if you are more than 30 miles from Terre Haute. Yet when there is an IU game, it's on a dozen stations. What would that tell a casual fan? The perception would have to be that the IU game is WAY more interesting and important than the ISU game. How is ISU ever going to develop a following if no one can follow the team from home? This development/cultivation is what makes fans and gets them to want to come to games. Why are there so many Cubs and Cardinals and Reds fans in the area? It's because you can follow them from home by listening to them on the radio where ever you are - building a bond with a team by becoming familiar with the players. If it didn't work, those teams wouldn't bother broadcasting. A person can't do that with ISU and it just enrages me.

Dude, its 2018. All ISU games are streamed on the radio worldwide on 97.9. Use your home computer, notebook, or smartphone. And if you have a car built within the last 10 years you can bluetooth it through your car speakers. Or just listen from the phone speakers themselves.

Also, most games are now televised over the internet in one fashion or another on one platform or another. With Boda's help above you can watch every game, or almost every game.

I do agree it would be a nice sign for ISU athletics if there was such demand for the ISU product that other markets bought the ISU radio network (like Indy or Chicago) but the demand (and concomitant ability to sell ads) just isn't there, especially since anyone can listen anywhere via streaming.

This is true. I listen to most of the games on radio (if I'm not in front of a TV to watch them via Sling and ESPN3) and I live over four hours away. Download TuneIn or another app on your phone and you can listen while driving anywhere.
