Love him or hate him - it literally might be the only way to get anything done to fix it... You expect the NCAA to do something? I understand that you probably don't want a President muddling in college athletic rules/regulations, makes sense. But if it's the only way anything gets done to stop the madness, is it really a bad thing?

*I could probably be swayed one way or the other on this topic. I wouldn't say I have a real hard stance one way or the other I can clearly see both sides.

I agree. 90% of people seem to realize this is ruining college sports, but nothing is getting done about it. It may take Trump doing something, or just threatening to do something for some action to get going. I have zero problem with guys signing actual NIL deals, they should be able to make money off their likeness and such. But this nonsense that they need paid by the university is garbage. They are being paid, a scholarship that can be worth 6 figures over 4 year, meals, travel, top trainers, gear, tutors.....that is worth a fortune and something non-athlete students don't get. It has degraded into madness and anyone who doesn't see that is part of the problem. These guys who are good enough to play post college, the main reason they are able to do that is because college gave them a chance to show their abilities. Yes, some schools make a profit off athletics......most don't. So take your free education, all the extras you get that traditional students don't and make the most of the opportunity. If you can further your career in sports at the next level, great. If not, use that education you got in exchange for playing and have a successful career in something other than sports.

any president, even this one has far, FAR more important things to muse on and govern on...

Am I the ONLY person who knows the NCAA was established to KEEP the government OUT of college sports? And if any branch were to get involved, it would be the Legislative Branch; attack the system under Anti-Trust legislation; as treating any/ALL NIL deals as income and have them taxed accordingly

The president can SIGN into law any legit legislation from Congress but Exec Orders are merely 'claims of power' by the POTUS of the Day and are hard as *uck to enforce until codified into law.

Good for him!! Maybe, just maybe something can be done to change this cluster fucked policy as it exists today.🤬
I'm sure he'll "make it happen," immediately after Alcatraz reopens as a prison  and he announces who REALLY posted the AI pic of him dressed as the Pope

it's outside his purview

I absolutely agree with this. The players not making the big deals are the Ones who will get hurt the most. Team to team for a little more money, and very few will get their degrees.
NCAA losing every lawsuit!
