The Starter Level
Admittedly late to the party here: Is TK (or any senior basketball player) eligible to exercise extra year? Or was this not for participants of truncated seasons that finished?

My understanding is that this is a free year for ALL players.

I haven't tried to figure how red shirts count. I know players get 6 yrs now to complete their 5 yrs of eligibility. I guess that's at the coach's discretion at their current school.

The releases and news articles on this have been all over the place. Some say it's a blanket extra year even if you have already had 4 years of competition, some say it's not. Some say it is now 6 for 5, some 6 for 4, some say only this years senior class is bumped into that category. I know they're trying, but it's an absolute mess.

What I haven't seen is any scholarship waivers. So with that, we have one remaining scholarship open so that means we could potentially bring one senior back.

I believe returning seniors do not count against your scholarship total.

Perhaps we can convince TK on a (second?) masters program? He’s got a future getting paid to play, but it would be nice to see him run it back.

Anyone else have insights on where the school is on this - and not just in basketball?

They announced that for the fall sport athletes that had their seasons postponed. I've yet to see an article that said they extended it for the winter sports. It's crazy the NCAA doesn't have a page up on their website outlining everything clearly.

Todd Golden told me all three Seniors are eligible to return (Howard, Miller, TK)...he said he feels TK will be able to get paid overseas. Then, I heard rumblings that on Senior Day, it was rumored TK hadn't made up his mind yet...I believe one of the TV guys in Terre Haute tweeted recently that he'd heard rumblings that Tyreke might be reconsidering his decision. I'm sure we'd all enjoy another year of THAT dude.

Would LOVE another year of Tyreke Key....dude is a fantastic player, unselfish, hard worker...doesn't act the fool on the court...just the opposite, actually, and by all accounts is a good dude.

At times, he reminds me of Jim Brown...after a shot and on his way to the line, he's got (in my mind), this tired old bones kinda walk...then he steals an inbounds or sticks that turn around j-dagger.

Did I mention I'd take another year of Tyreke Key? Still....whatever he does, I say "Thanks" and wish him all the best...he's been a pleasure to watch.
