I'm biased but the Hill Country here in Texas is nice. I live 30 min from it and its a whole different area compared to San Antonio, New Braunfels, Austin..

We will probably be there 4 nights. I hear Salt Lick is BYOB?!
We love country music, so we’re pretty excited for that.

Byob and cash only highly recommend The Rancher plate. sample of everything....in New Braunfels, little area called Gruene, has Gruene Hall, oldest Dancehall in Texas. about a 30 min drive South of Austin

Lot of real spectacular places in this country of ours. A lot of different option on whether you like the touristy places/cities or going to the middle of nowhere.

San Francisco - Bay, Bridge, RedWoods, Alcatraz, Cable Cars, Napa Valley, Pacific ocean, China Town, etc. You will NEVER run out of things to do in this city. Amazing culture.

Zion Natinoal Park - Underrated national park. Things there that are nowhere else on this continent.

Rocky Mountain/Yellowstone - You could spend weeks there and not get tired of the sites & wildlife.

Kansas City - Brother lived there for a few years. Small town feel in a big city. LOVED the neighborhoods, parks, and homes.

Gatlinburg - Awesome spot for a cheap family getaway (if you stay in a cabin). But, who hasn't been to gatlinburg???

One place that i've never been but would love to check out in the next few years is the New England area. Anybody have any suggestions or must-dos for that part of the country?

Will second Zion. I've been to the Grand Canyon and would recommend Zion first. Southern Utah and northern Arizona as a whole are incredibly beautiful.

Zapata, Texas wasn’t the nicest place I’ve been on earth and fishing was pretty slow. Probably won’t be going back...

This summer I want to make a trip up to Mackinac Island in Michigan - heard nothing but good things and maybe Traverse City.

Hmmm, that picture looks familiar (eyes drift to the avatar on the left).

Rudy's BBQ is closer (in town). Salt Lick is good, too. Via 313 or Conan's for pizza. Out of town, Enchanted Rock is a nice walk/view. Texas Pie Company in Kyle, just south of Austin.
Also, some movie locations you may recognize: http://austin.culturemap.com/news/e...-famous-film-locations-movies-austin/#slide=0

And for a great movie/food experience, check out any Alamo Drafthouse location.

Rudys is no where near Salt Lick level. Rudy's does have Cream Corn. Enchanted Rock is fun hike, drive through Hill Country is beautiful.

Rudy's and Salt Lick are VERY different, no doubt. I consider both must-do's when I am in Austin.
Rudy's cream corn is great and I normally DETEST cream corn.
