So we play at Illinois State Saturday and then play them five days later to kick off Arch Madness. Win and we wear white, lose and we wear blue.
I like your thinking, but I don't want to hear "LaNsIng NeVer LoSt 14 MvC GaMeS" for the next 7 months either.Would gladly take the L here if it meant we'd get one in the tournament. Plus, I like blue unis better.
But when McKenna departed he didn't encourage and help some of the best players find a new home either, so there is that angle also.I like your thinking, but I don't want to hear "LaNsIng NeVer LoSt 14 MvC GaMeS" for the next 7 months either.
Is there a school of thought to rest or limit the starters since they've played so many games in so many days...which also avoids giving ILSU a free scout? I know it's late in the season and everyone has scouted everyone but if we're all hoping for a miracle run in STL INSU needs to give itself every possible advantage. This game Saturday is more or less meaningless.Would gladly take the L here if it meant we'd get one in the tournament. Plus, I like blue unis better.
I can see playing some different guys so usual starters get some rest (maybe 20 min. each) but I don't agree with pulling back the reins as this whole team has fought tooth & nail with different lineups except for a slip or two this whole season & would like to keep that momentum moving forward. Hell, shoot lights out & make a run in St. Louis ..... stranger things have happened down there in the past.Is there a school of thought to rest or limit the starters since they've played so many games in so many days...which also avoids giving ILSU a free scout? I know I have my royal blue colored glasses on right now and we'd have to get past ILSU in The Lou; but the prospect of having to play either UNI or Loyola Friday is a hell of a lot more appetizing than any of Drake/Missouri State/Bradley.Hell, shoot lights out & make a run in St. Louis ..... stranger things have happened down there in the past.
Have they though? I don’t believe a 9 seed has ever won Arch Madness. Lol
I think Hooper is right that it wouldn’t hurt to give Crawford and Hittle 10 or 15 minutes to give Coop & Kailex some rest (Henry is due for a lengthy sitting due to foul trouble).
A few years ago Valpo was a Thursday team and made the finals. ISU sure could use some good publicity right now and a Sunday 2pm national network appearance on CBS certainly fits that mold.Have they though? I don’t believe a 9 seed has ever won Arch Madness. Lol

It's getting hard to care, next year should be better! GO state!
Agree 100%!I know I have my royal blue colored glasses on right now and we'd have to get past ILSU in The Lou; but the prospect of having to play either UNI or Loyola Friday is a hell of a lot more appetizing than any of Drake/Missouri State/Bradley.
I surely understand that school of thought but I don't like it. At. All. We aren't very talented for Valley standards. We aren't very smart on the court for Valley standards. And we surely aren't experienced for any league's standards. The one thing that we can say about these guys is that they (mostly) play hard and fight. If we want to play guys 32 minutes instead of 37 or 38 I'd be all for that. But I think we should play our game, continue to play hard, and let the chips fall where they may. If this season is and always has been all about laying a foundation then this game is not meaningless.
