So now that it's official, what's everyone's take on this class? Think we definitely picked up some talent and size where it's needed. Probably not enough to make a quick turnaround this season, but getting us going in the right direction.

Class appears to be solid.

I know a great kid, football player and friend of the family, who led the Big 10 in total offense several years ago and led his team to a share of the Big 10 Championship after a sub 500 year. When I asked what enabled the turnaround he said, "Athletic talent-wise we got a little better but for the most part, Mr. P, we were the same team. What changed was the fact that we realized it was about the head and the heart". pointing at both as he spoke, "not our athletic ability or what we did in high school or how many stars Rivals gave us ". He could see his point was not quite sinking into my thick skull so he continued, "You see, at the D1 level you go to war with three things. Your God-given physical talent, your intelligence and your desire to suceed. Everybody's physically gifted so the difference between winning and losing is what you do with your head and heart." At that point I understood his meaning.

Now will the Sycamores get it?

If a turnaround is possible for Sycamore football in 14' , it will be because of leadership, focus, hard work, character, ingenuity and commitment by every player and coach. This laundry list of "head and heart" stuff, in addition, will have to be accomplished at a level higher than any opponent the Sycamores will face. Will these guys employ the tenacity required to succeed in 2014? Only time will tell and the one and only, absolute measure of this will be their win/loss record.

I was wondering the same thing...
