That means 4 assistant coaches are gone in less than a year. That's not good. The program needs some stability with the coaches to build the young players around.

This is officially happening. I checked with my resources and have received confirmation.

New Fan,

This is indeed unfortunate. However, there are always shake-ups in coaching staffs at this level.

Tom Jame,

Can you comment on the nomadic lifestyles of Assistant Coaches (especialy position coaches) at our level? I know that we have seen this at Indiana State quite a bit.

It is hard on the kids, but position coaches at this level do not make much money. We had a few players on the roster last year that had played for 4 different Head Coches. Not THAT is a problem. I think Coach Miles is going to be here a while.

syd....

you are right....coaching movement is normal at this level....raetz went through several assistant coaches....its tough to keep good assistant coaches when other schools are offering more money.....if isu wants to keep assistant coaches for any length of time, they have to upgrade the salaries....

but look at all the guys who came through when dennis was coaching....hoener, brickey, turner, mcginnis, payton, magazu, marty fine.....dennis held on to them as long as he could....but when bigger schools or the nfl comes calling, there's not much that you can do....
