As many of you may know I coach 5th and 7th grade basketball at the Boys and Girls Club. Both teams had practice tonight, but my 5th graders were at 6:00 and one of my players parents knows Jim Cruse who is now an Indiana State trooper.
Anyway Jimmy came to our practice today and talked to the kids and showed them so rebounding technique and a few of his favorite simple rebounding drills.
I had never met Jim, only seen him play when I was in 5th and 6th grade myself. I don't remember much of him, but he was telling me that he had 26 rebounds in a game and that lead the NCAA his Sr. year. Same graduating class as Tim Duncan (might have heard of him), Jim is only like 6'3 or 6'4 - he had to be a real treat to watch!
Figured I'd share, he was a really nice guy and it was great for me as a coach and fan to get a lesson on rebounding by a guy who could really get it done on the glass!
