TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Blustery winds and cool temperatures from a winter that will not end resulted in the postponement of the Indiana State vs. Wichita State game scheduled for Friday night at Bob Warn Field. The two teams will play a double-header on Saturday with the first game starting at 2 p.m. (ET). The two squads will also play a single game on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.

Since when is 43 degrees too cold? And when did wind make a difference? But, whatever the two head coaches decide goes! Common sense says both teams would be equally affected.

Big series for us to stay in the hunt for the MVC as well as putting us in good position for an At-Large. The MVC should get 3 in, maybe 4 and the Sycs need to get the wins to solidify their spot.

the MVC is strong this year and deserves multiple bids into the tourney. there are zero bad loses in conference play and about 4-5 teams that are "quality" wins. look at RPI's baseball compared to basketball

Wichita State: 51 - 5 difference +46
Indiana State: 24 - 73 difference -49
Illinois State: 26 - 113 difference -87
Southern Illinois: 179 - 200 difference -21
Bradley: 65 - 264 difference -199
Evansville: 116 - 210 difference -94
Missouri State: 96 - 94 difference +2
Dallas Baptist: 42 - N/A

Loyola: 292
Northern Iowa: 112
Drake: 178

Basketball Average RPI = 156 Conference Rank: 11
Baseball Average RPI = 75 Conference Rank: 5

I love the MVC as much as anyone, but most people will tell you they will be lucky to get 2 teams in. The guys behind the desks that pick the teams, will put in 6 SEC teams, 6 PAC 12 teams, and 2 or 3 Big10 teams, whether they deserve it or not. The small conferences always get screwed. If you want to assure yourself in, better win your tournament. Hence, Illinois State last year. Two years ago Indiana State won the Valley outright, lost early in the tourney, and had to sweat to see if they made it in. There are no guarantees in Mid-Major baseball.

still 1-0 Sycs going into the 8th. we had the bases loaded but a HARD line drive to the short stop ended the threat.

I saw on twitter Dallas Baptist beat Illinois State to remain unbeaten in MVC play, they play 2 today I think

3-0 sycs still batting in the 8th

Sycamores are 3 outs away from winning, 3-0

great to see them get back on track after a bad start to MVC play! They REALLY need to win tomorrow as well. Dallas Baptist swept ILS today

Wichita State continues it's woes in Terre Haute...going 2 and 6 since 2010! Wichita St. pitched well enough to win...but no run support and pretty good ISU arms. A sweep would be fabulous. Imagine both Wichita St. and Missouri St. on the ropes this early in the season! But still a long ways to go, boys (and girls)!
