RP and the entire University better take notice of what could be accomplished here by her. She is on the verge of doing something truly unprecedented, the 2 time defending NCAA Champion is vaulting on another level right now and could make it 3 in a row!

Will it get the attention it deserves? Doubtful, could she go down as the greatest athlete at Indiana State ever? Probable, staytuned....

I think Hollie Hyche will go down as the greatest athlete in ISU history, look at how many NCAA titles that girl won, she was one fast runner! Kylie will rank up there pretty high though!

Well if she wins 4 strait to end her career and has marks that stack up amongst the best ever in the nation I think it will be more than debatable... I like her chances at this point in the indoor season.

she will rank in the top 5 for sure, I also like her chances to repeat indoors. I think Erica scores points at the NCAA meet too. Kelsey and Lauren could also score.

Should be a good meet for the women.

Oh no doubt CC, they could do really well. The women and the men are really loaded with heavy hitters, they have both struggled with depth and that is really rare for the mens team.

To add to Kylie's greatness and most people dont know this since nearly everyone had left the meet but she had 3 very close attempts at what would have been a colligiate record on friday night/sat morning. Not bad considering she didn't start jumping until 1 am her time. She's a great athlete and she always seems to have a little more up her sleeve. Should be interesting to see how the season finishes out here.

btw... Kylie is currently tied as the 5th best indoor vaulter in colligiate history! Stud.

Fans of Kurt Thomas and Bruce Baumgartner might argue with you...

Silly to debate it -- all were great; shame Thomas lost his Olympic opportunity

Anyone know what Hyche is doing today?

Late in the season, both teams were resting their best players trying to get ready for conference this weekend. Many of the athletes running were still vying for a spot on the conference roster. Then you have athletes like Hutson who just would rather compete and stay sharp than rest, a little Manning mantra if you will.

Yeah like 4Q said it's really silly to debate it, but people always want to put people up against the best - it's what we do (I am guilty) and maybe that's not the best way to look at things. But that seems to be what sets the standard, I guess 4Q it was my way of saying "appreciate that something very special is taking place at Indiana State" and sadly it goes relatively unnoticed.

I am going to be real with you here for a second, if Jeff Martin friend of mine and former coach of mine, most notably former Indiana State athlete applies to any major head coaching position in the country he is going to have a pretty decent looking resume even if Hutson does not win 3 or 4 national titles. As with coaches of any sport you are only as good as the athletes you go into battle with, but he has coached Hutson since she got to Indiana State and it's fair to say she wouldn't be what she is today without Coach Jeff Martin. He would be the last to admit that, very modest guy. But I have said this before, they can't let him get away. He and his wife both need to stay at Indiana State, exact same goes for Geoff Wayton who is a former Indiana State track and XC athlete who now works as a coach and runs the NCAA National meet.

4Q - all 3 of these individuals are grossly underpaid and you know what makes the Indiana State Track and Cross programs so great? Not only stability amongst the head coaches, but one of the finest group of assistant coaches in the nation. Coach Judge the throwers coach is fantastic, across the board Gartland and McNichols surround themselves with great people and in many instances it has been athletes that they have coached and nurtured.

I have a lot of praise for all of these individuals, I aspire to one day be as good at my job as they ALL are at theirs! Trust me, these people are good - I have been coached by them and since then I have had the chance to work with them (Wayton and Martin mainly) and they are good!
