Sycamorehoops.com: Alright here we go, Andrew did you choose to come to Indiana State?
Derek: Welcoming and ISU is becoming top notch for in state recruits. It was a very easy choice for me.
sycamorehoops.com: Coach does a great job of recruiting runners from the state of Indiana, I love his philosopy behind recruiting. What is your greatest running accomplishment to this point in your career?
Derek: 4th place in the 1600 junior year.
sycamorehoops.com: You certainly had a nice high school carrer, congrats! If you could customize your own/favorite workout what would it be?
Derek: 200's until i die..
sycamorehoops.com: Now that's my type of workout, except I have no intrest in dieing while running. What is one song that get's you totally pumped up before a race?
Derek: Underoath Failure
sycamorehoops.com: Whatever that is - never heard of anything like that, I will have to check youtube for that hit. If you were not a runner what would you be?
Derek: baseball player- out fielder or pitcher
sycamorehoops.com: Even though I am a fan of baseball I find it very boring. What advice do you have for younger runners that might want to run college track or cross country one day?
Derek: Its a long road be patient but do the work.
sycamorehoops.com: Derek you are a man of few words, but great advice! Any goals for the up coming season that you have set for yourself?
Derek: No clue would really like to run mid 25 low 25 for cross and havent got to thinking about track yet we will see what kind of shape im in after CC
sycamorehoops.com: Yeah that seems pretty reasonable. Ok here is a new question at the request of former Sycamore Justin Kunz, if you could be a super hero who would you be and why?
Derek: Superman! superman is just the bomb i mean laser eyes he can fly. He is ripped too easy choice.
